Privacy Policy

Effective 1 July 2026

1. Who we are

Get Prompts ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at get-prompts.com and provides an AI prompt library service. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. What personal information we collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Account data — your name and email address when you create an account via Clerk.
  • Billing data — payment method details and billing address, collected and stored by Stripe on our behalf. We do not store raw card numbers.
  • Usage data — prompts you reveal, categories browsed, and credit usage to operate your dashboard.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected automatically by our hosting provider (Vercel).
  • Submitted content — prompt text and use-case details if you choose to submit a prompt for review.

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our functions and activities (APP 3).

3. How we collect personal information

We collect personal information directly from you when you register, subscribe, or submit content. We also collect technical data automatically when you use our website. We do not collect personal information from third parties unless you authorise it (e.g. social sign-in).

4. Why we collect and use your information

We use your personal information to:

  • Provide and improve the Get Prompts service
  • Process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe
  • Send transactional emails (welcome, billing receipts, credit alerts) via Resend
  • Send weekly prompt digests if you opt in to marketing communications
  • Prevent fraud and ensure platform security
  • Meet our legal obligations

We will not use or disclose your personal information for a purpose other than the primary purpose of collection, or a directly related secondary purpose, without your consent (APP 6).

5. Disclosure to third parties

We disclose personal information only to the following service providers who assist us in operating the platform:

  • Clerk — authentication and user management (USA)
  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription management (USA)
  • Vercel — website hosting and serverless functions (USA)
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (USA)

These providers are located overseas. Before disclosing your information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle it in a manner consistent with the APPs (APP 8). Each provider maintains their own privacy and security certifications.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

6. Data quality and security

We take reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is accurate, up to date, complete, and relevant (APP 10). We protect it from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access through HTTPS encryption, secure credential storage via Clerk, and tokenised payment handling via Stripe (APP 11).

7. Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as required by law. Billing records are retained for 7 years in accordance with Australian taxation law. If you close your account, we destroy or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, unless we are required by law to retain it (APP 11.2).

8. Your rights under the Privacy Act

You have the right to:

  • Access — request access to the personal information we hold about you (APP 12).
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate or out-of-date information (APP 13).
  • Opt out — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in each email.
  • Complaint — lodge a complaint with us, and if unsatisfied, with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@get-prompts.com. We will respond within 30 days. Access requests are free unless the request is complex or requires excessive effort, in which case a reasonable charge may apply.

9. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication (Clerk session token) and a referral tracking cookie if you arrive via a referral link. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, though this will prevent login from functioning.

10. Anonymity and pseudonymity

Where lawful and practicable, you may interact with us anonymously or by pseudonym (APP 2). However, creating an account and accessing paid features requires us to verify your identity and collect your email address.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you by email and update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Get Prompts after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
